Is there a cost to service?
The Batavia Lions Club provides services to those in need. Even during this difficult pandemic year we have held events benefiting the United Way Christmas giving program donating an excess of $3000. We have supported the food pantry with an event that collected thousands of dollars worth of food and monetary donations to see that our neighbors do not go hungry. Through the generosity of club members we will continue this year’s scholarship program. We have provided hearing aids and eyeglasses to numerous adults and children in Batavia. The cost of a single set of hearing aids to someone in need is $980, vision services including glasses is $100 for each child served. The club bears the total expense, no recipient is charged for these services. We provide a Halloween event, assist the Park District with their Easter Egg Hunt, and help children have Breakfast with Santa! We give sight, hearing, holiday cheer, school supplies, scholarships and so much more.
As with everyone our fundraising efforts have been substantially curtailed this past year and we need your help. We are in the sad position of having to tell those seeking hearing aids that they will have to wait until our next fiscal year as we simply do not have the funds to assist at this time. Please consider a donation to the Batavia Lions Club, 100% of all donated funds are returned to direct service.
